Career

Ever since I was a child, I've always loved to draw and layout information. At school, I paid attention to the cleanliness and clarity of my class notes, playing with colors and different lettering. But, at the same time, I was good at science and technology subjects. I would have loved to study Fine Arts but ended up in Industrial Design, which somehow combined the technical and creative fields.

I started my professional career in 2000 in fields like graphic and web design, and shortly after, in 2003, I set up my own studio (Inklude) with some folks, where we developed both client and personal projects of graphic design, illustration, web development, and motion graphics. We made a name on the local design scene, participating in various exhibitions and conferences in events such as OFFF festival. During this time we tried to work and collaborate as much as possible on projects related to the cultural and artistic scene in the city.

After the studio closed down in 2011, I set myself as a freelancer, working mostly on web projects and evolving towards a frontend development profile while, unfortunately, dedicating less and less time to the design/creative side. I collaborated with local artistic projects, such as designers, VJs, DJs, and artists in fields like dance and theater. During all these years, I also taught web design and coding for a Master's Degree in Digital Creation at the Catholic University of Valencia, loving very much the experience of sharing my knowledge with the students.

In 2016, I started a job in the IT department of a large logistics company. At first, I was involved in the UI redesign and frontend development of a web application for the final customer, but eventually, I ended up managing a small team of developers, working with agile methodologies, and coordinating the tasks of the team while in direct contact with stakeholders and customers. I enjoyed diagramming and simplifying complex procedures and requirements in an appealing and visual way, but in my everyday work, something was missing: creativity and design. Nevertheless, as something that is inherent to me, I never left my interest in design and visual culture, trying to keep myself up to date with the latest visual trends and technologies.

Since the beginning of 2023, due to a role change on my job, I've had the opportunity to spend time learning and refreshing my knowledge, starting some side projects to test and research new tools and methodologies.
